UO Theta Pi Sigma
Our Story
Since 2012 we've been working to create inclusive space in Greek Life and making all of campus safer for queer and trans* students.
As fall term 2011 was drawing to an end a group of students got together to change Greek Life from within, seeking to build a culture of inclusion and acceptance in a community that all too often prides itself on exclusion. After looking at a few organizations we settled on an organization now known as Theta Pi Sigma. We chose them because of their focus on inclusion, affordability for our members, and space for members outside of the gender binary. After organizing ourselves that winter, we recruited and welcomed our first locally pledged class into our family.
Theta Pi Sigma is an acronym for the Greek phrase "Death before conformity." We are proud to represent a safe space for everyone who would rather face death than fit into social expectations of who they should be.
We look forward to many more years of making our campus, community, and selves better people and better students.
